RAIDER BLUE ACADEMY
Cleveland Middle School utilizes the Three Tier Instruction and Intervention Model in the general education program for all students. Three times a year (August, December, and April), all students take the universal screener, iReady. Sixth Grade students take the Fluency Test on the EasyCBM screener as well as the iReady in Reading and Math. The screener identifies students who are at risk for reading and math. Parents are notified of the results in writing after each universal screening.
The goal of RTI is to increase achievement in areas of need. Based on the iReady growth scores for the spring of 2019, 488 students showed no growth, while 947 students showed growth. We hope to increase the number of students growing towards mastery of content through RTI.
The RTI Facilitator provides support to teachers for instruction and management of data. The RTI Facilitator, in collaboration with the RTI team, review assessment data in order to make decisions regarding instructional placements and program adjustments. The RTI team consists of: the principal, teachers, school psychologist, Special Services Facilitator and ELL teachers. The purpose of the RTI Team is to review student intervention data and educational history. The team makes recommendations regarding educational programming and/or need for further assessment. Information obtained will be used to determine placement in Tier II or Tier III intervention classes. These classes are scheduled during designated intervention periods, as to not take away from regular class involvement. Student progress is monitored regularly using EasyCBM progress monitoring. The results of these assessments drive instructional changes and curriculum development, and they are combined with manipulatives to increase student
