C.M.S. S.T.E.M. Design Model
DESIGN THINKING MAP, 2020 - 2021
Cleveland Middle School has adopted the "Design Process Thinking" map from Cleveland High School as illustrated below. It is used throughout the school as a model for how to encourage a growth mindset and a solution-based approach to problem-solving. It is not a linear process, although there are sequential steps which help guide students in tackling highly complex problems or challenges. Design Thinking nurtures an outside-the-box approach, with an emphasis on creativity, innovation, and perseverance.
Identify the problem; Seek new perspective; Determine purpose; Listen and Learn
Question for deeper understanding; Explore existing solutions
